Leader in Training
2019 Leader in Training program report #1
Date: Saturday, April 13th – Sunday, April 14th, 2019
Location: Mitake
Program:
LIT program 2019 has begun! We have 4 girls and 4 boys in the program this year.
Saturday Back to Nature program was Easter theme and boxing. In the morning, the participants enjoyed the Easter related activities, such as Egg Hunt Challenge, as well as an opportunity to think about “New Beginning” for themselves. In the afternoon, we had a boxing session with special guest, ex-pro boxer, Hiroyuki Sakamoto, who also grew up in the children’s home. He gave all of us strong yet heartwarming messages about reaching our dream.
In the evening, LITs had BBQ dinner, with bonfire and roasted marshmallow for dessert as a team building exercise!
On Sunday, we had orientation for this year’s program, including games and other fun activities. We covered various topics, such as “what it means to be a leader”. It may not be clear what it all means to them right now, but hopefully it will become clearer over the coming year. We finished off our first program with writing down the personal goals for this year’s program.
We are all looking forward to seeing what challenges they will face, and how they will grow as a team, and as an individual.
Thank you so much for your continuous support for LITs and the program.
