Back to Nature

December Back to Nature: Christmas Special Report

Date: Saturday, December 15th
Location: Mitake
Participants: 38 campers, 5 care workers, 3 LITs, 10 sponsors, 8 Mirai no Mori staff, 1 special guest, 7 KIWL santas

Program:

For the last Back to Nature Program of 2018, as many as 70 people gathered around in Mitake under beautiful weather!

We started off with some fun English games to get to know each other, and divided into teams to decorate the room, bake cookies, and write Christmas cards for KIWL santas! The decoration team did a great job making a beautiful Christmas tree, the cookie team baked huge cookies with the help of the special guest Sanober san, and the card team went outside and created special Christmas card using little branches.

After the preparation, we headed outside to welcome the santas who biked all the way from Shinjuku!
We enjoyed delicious stew, played a little game with them, and finally moved on to the present time everyone was looking for. This year, we had water bottles from Montbell and a lot of snacks from Costco, and the campers seemed to love them!

After saying goodbye to the santas, we learned about true Christmas spirit “giving”, and the campers made cards for those who couldn’t make it to the program.

We would like to thank everyone who joined this program, our sponsor for their continuous support, Sanober san and KIWL santas for making this special event possible! We hope to see you soon!
