Leader in Training Program 2018 vol. 5 Report

Date: August 25-26, 2018
Location: Tako & Mitake

This month’s program was a special one in that there were only LITs and staff. On Saturday, they practiced for the next months Back to Nature Program, which is the rafting. They will be in charge of handing out gear and making the first safety checks.

Of course, we all enjoyed going down the rapids in a raft, and it was sunny and hot: a perfect day to be out on the river!

After the rafting, it was the 2nd half of “Catch Your Dream” workshop, followed by preparation for the next day.

On Sunday, we had Mirai no Mori Friends’ Day; an event where sponsors, care workers, staff and volunteer who were involved in the LIT program were invited to enjoy the day and the activities lead by LITs. LITs were preparing for the event all morning, deciding on activities, assigning people to each task, and practicing the flow and the speech. There were about 20 guest, and they all enjoyed the lunch and activities lead by LITs, as well as the speeches that LITs gave about their experiences so far.

This year’s LIT program is almost at the half-way point. It seems they all came back from Summer Camp a little grown up. The preparation for the Final Project will become the focus from now on. It would be very exciting to see how they can use what they’ve learned so far to develop themselves even further in the 2nd half.
