Program:
This month’s Back to Nature Program was nature art & wood workshop!

In the morning, everyone gathered at Mitake station, and walked together to the community center for orientation and group making. We listened to interesting stories of Halloween, watched an amazing video about a famous nature artist, and made up groups for making nature art of our own!

Each group created an amazing nature art using their imagination and creativity, and later presented the art to other groups. After the lunch, with the Halloween phrase of “Trick or Treat!” , we had delicious brownies from Sanober san, and moved on to the program of the afternoon, wood workshop.

At first, our wood workshop partner “C-chan”  lectured us on different characteristics of woods and how to use the knife safely, then we were right off to making our own chopsticks!

“There is no mistake or rule of what it should be” – sometimes it didn’t go the way it was supposed to, but the campers were able to be patient and embrace the uniqueness of their craft at the end. During the program, they learned important lessons about respect, responsibility, and creativity!

We would like to thank our sponsors, wood workshop partner, and everyone who joined this program! We hope to see you again soon!
