Last Saturday we had another fun rafting day with the campers from the care homes. We were joined by a volunteer from our sponsor, PERSOL CAREER CO., LTD. for an exciting adventure with Mitake Race Rafting!

We spent the morning playing fun English games and learning more about each other. We then got into our groups and played more games to build teamwork and make team names like “Red X”, “Blue Dog Tiger”, and “Freedom Flow”! LITs in each team did a great job encouraging everyone to participate the fun.

After a safety talk, we learned the new Target English phrases “You can do it!” and “We did it!” to use during the rafting fun to encourage each other! It came in handy many times, such as when encouraging each other to challenge jumping into the river or when we were successfully able to navigate a tough part of the river.

We played more games during the rafting like a balancing race on the rafts and a rock pile challenge! The campers were very creative on how to build the tallest piles.

After the day was over, the campers reflected on their experience and gave comments like:

“Jumping into the river was really fun!”

“Everything was fun and awesome!”

It was a great way to spend one of the last days of summer, and we would like to thank our sponsor, again for joining us! We hope to see you again next year!
