Leader in Training Program 2018 vol.9 Report

Date: Sunday,November 18
Place: Partner company’s office in Tameike-Sanno

Program:
For this month’s LIT program, we had a workshop on “resilience”. The resilience in this context is the one’s ability to work through a difficulty or a problem that you may face in life. We have invited an expert in this field, who studied, and currently still is a research fellow, at Keio University. He has created this workshop specifically for the children at the care homes, who faces many challenges when they graduate.

In the beginning, we learned that having your own principals leads to resilience, and that strong principal comes from happiness, or being happy. After the quick lecture, all participants, both high school students and adults, got into activities, such as writing down things that we were excited about, something that we are working on, and good points and bad points that we think we have. By sharing these items with others and commenting on their points, we were able to reconfirm and rediscover who we are and what makes each of us happy. The last activity was skit on something that we appreciate.

It was fun and a very quick 4-hour workshop. I hope what we learn here will resonate with them long after this program.
